Premiere of ‘Los Olchis’, the animated film by Toby Genkel and Jens Møller arrives in Spanish cinemas on 3 September 2021.
The Ogglies are looking for a place to live, but they never feel welcome anywhere. They stink and most humans don’t like them. When the family’s dragon lands on the Pestilandia landfill, the Ogglies feel at home and decide to make it their new home. But not everything will be as easy as they expect and they will have to prove to the citizens of Pestilandia that together they can save the city.

It is an animated film based on the eponymous series of children’s books by German author Erhard Dietl, published in 1990. Following their success with children, Dietl has continued to write about these characters to the present day. The saga has been translated into several languages, including Spanish. In Spain, the books have been published since 2004 by publishers renowned for their children’s literature, such as Alhambra, Santillana, Pearson, Alfaguara and Luis Vives (Edelvives). It is a German-Belgian co-production directed by two internationally experienced animators: Jens Møller (‘The Fabulandia Chronicles’) and Toby Genkel (‘Yakari, le film’, ‘Richard, the stork’, ‘Oops! Where is Noah…’). The script was co-written by Genkel and John Chambers, who wrote the screenplays for ‘Die Schule der magischen Tiere’ and ‘Molly Monster’s Gift’. The children’s film has been sold to several countries in the European Film Market, including the United States, Canada, the Middle East, Denmark and Norway. It has also been marketed in Italy, where it had its premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival, dedicated to films aimed at children and young audiences.
